TIME Magazine to Hold ETH on Balance Sheet as part of Galaxy Digital partnership to support Metaverse
TIME Magazine announced on November 18 a collaboration with Galaxy Digital, a leading crypto fund, and recently launched a list of the top 100 Metaverse companies, as well as the Into the Metaverse column to provide public information. The partnership is funded by Ethereum ( ETH) payment, making Time Magazine the first mainstream media to hold cryptocurrency on its balance sheet.
Time Magazine officially stated that the media will launch the so-called “Meta Universe Top 100” ranking list, listing the most influential Meta Universe companies. The application period is from November 18 to December 31. As for whether the specific classification will be similar The Pioneers, Leaders, Innovators, Titans, etc. in the traditional top 100 list have not yet been announced.
Time Magazine will also launch an Into the Metaverse column, written by former New York Times and NBC columnist Andrew R. Cho, responsible for bringing readers the latest information on Metaverse, interviews with industry leaders and other content. Mike Novogratz, founder of Galaxy Digital, said
“We look forward to partnering with TIME, an iconic brand driving innovation, as we seek to bring readers, creators, and the curious into the metaverse and demystify the tremendous amount of transformation happening within.”
In addition, Time Magazine will also launch a new branded website called Time for Learning, dedicated to providing meta-universe education information. The website is expected to be launched in December. The content is mainly written by Sam Englebardt and Richard Kim, partners of Galaxy Interactive (a subsidiary of Galaxy Digital).
This partnership will be paid by Galaxy Digital to Time Magazine in ETH. Although the amount is not disclosed, Time Magazine has become the first mainstream media holding cryptocurrency.
